Golden Jubilee Celebrations : Road Rally on 1st May 2012

The Golden Jubilee celebrations in school will start on the 1st of May 2012 and will last for a year. During the year there will be various programmes in school and at other places involving the present and ex students and staff of the school.
 On 1st May 2012 there will be a Road Rally in which ex students and students will take part. The Rally is divided into two separate sections ---- the MAMC Section and the Mirabai Section.
 The MAMC Section shall start off from the BOGL Workshop where the first ever class of St.Xavier's School was held. The boys of Class 10 who will run the Rally will run up to the location of St,Xavier's in MAMC Township where for a few years the school had class held.. From there they shall go to the Durgapur Govt. College.
The other section of the Rally shall start off from the location in Lala Lajpat Rai Road in Steel Township where our school was shifted in the early sixties. The boys will from there to Mirabai Road Section, and then from there to Chitralaya. From there they shall proceed to Durgapur Govt College.
Both the Sections will start the Rally simultaneously at 7 am so that they can meet together at Durgapur Govt College.
From the college the whole group will move to Carmel Convent High School. From this point the exstudents will run the Rally to the Steel Park More. From here all participants will run up to School where the Torch will be handed over to the Bishop.
At school, with the arrival of the torch shall  begin a colourful  and solemn Eucharist programme. There shall be a colourful Cultural Programme put up by a few present Carmelites. [In the long past there were girl students in our school who were shifted to Carmel School on its initiation.] After the Holy Mass a booklet on the History of the School and a badge on the Golden Jubilee shall be released It will be followed by a Power Point Presentation on the Glorious 50 Years of St.Xavier's School.
More than 800 people are expected to attend the Road Rally and the Holy Eucharist.
